Description for Rivers Edge On the banks of Little Pigeon River, nestled in a valley of the Great Smoky Mountains, River’s Edge is gorgeous. And so are the views of the river and the surrounding woods from the chalet’s front porch and great room. What's even better? There is a ramp to the front door for easy wheelchair access.

Because it overlooks the trout-stocked Little Pigeon River, the three-bedroom home will delight anglers—fabulous fishing is just steps from your front door! River’s Edge will also please anyone who uses a wheelchair, as the house offers accessible features including an entry ramp and wide doorways. The main floor’s en-suite bedrooms offer additional floor space for maneuverability and easy-to-access showers. That’s in addition to their king-size beds, TVs, and jetted tubs, of course.

After a day of fishing, hiking, biking, or exploring Dollywood, you’ll relish the restorative pulsing of the tub’s steamy water. Or you can head outside, to the hot tub on the porch. After all, if a soak in a bubbly tub is good, a soak in a bubbly tub that’s out in the fresh air has got to be great!

Speaking of great, wait till you see the great room. A twenty-foot-high wall of windows looks out beyond the porch and the treetops to the river, bringing the grandeur of nature indoors. What’s more, the sunshine streaming in shows off the beauty of the hand-rubbed pine walls to perfection.

When you can tear your gaze away from the view outside, the great room is a comfortable, inviting spot to watch a movie (the TV receives HBO and other movie channels, plus it has a DVD player). Or you might want to play Pictionary with family and friends or kick back in the recliner beside the wood-burning fireplace with a good book.

The dining area is another spacious gathering spot. The table seats six, and there’s room for four more at the adjacent breakfast bar. If you have company, you can serve the kids at the counter and let the adults enjoy a leisurely meal at the table. Another option is to dine alfresco at the table on the porch. The fresh breeze, the rushing of the river over the rocks, and the singing of the wrens and warblers will make even the simplest meal seem like a feast.

If a feast is what you want, the kitchen is more than up to the task. It’s stocked with all the appliances, gadgets, pots, pans, and tableware you could possibly need, even if you’re going so far as to host a holiday meal. For good measure, there’s a charcoal grill outside. And because nobody wants to scrub plates during vacation, River’s Edge has a dishwasher.

The third bedroom is upstairs, in the loft. Because the bedroom and its private bath are the only rooms on that level, they offer maximum privacy. And the view from the queen-size bed is truly spectacular—you’ll almost feel as if you’re in a treehouse. If you need to accommodate additional guests, one of the great room’s sofas opens into a bed for two, enabling River’s Edge to sleep up to eight people in total.

You could happily while away most of your stay in the chalet or explore its immediate surroundings. But then you’d be missing out on the attractions of downtown Gatlinburg, just a fifteen-minute drive away; these range from an aquarium to Ripley’s Believe It or Not to mini golf. Also close by is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, where you can hike, bike, and ride horses among wildflowers and wildlife. Even Dollywood is only a half-hour away.

As soon as you pull up the driveway, you can tell that River’s Edge is no ordinary mountain cabin. And when you stay here, you won’t have an ordinary vacation. See for yourself; book your stay today!

Please remember that Gatlinburg and the surrounding area is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter. Inclement weather can affect driving and parking conditions regardless of the property, driveway, or roads. We strongly recommend four-wheel drive and/or chains during the winter months.

Guest Rating for Rivers Edge
Loved the area and house. Only downfall was floors could of been cleaner. I swept them myself with the broom.
We really enjoyed our sray
Great Cabin in a great location
Pictures do not do this cabin justice. The Little Pigeon River is literally right off the deck. You can sit in the hot tub and enjoy the water sounds, birds and lightening bugs. It says there is parking for 4 vehicles but it would be a very tight squeeze unless they are small cars. You really need access to a blower for the outside porches, driveway and deck due to leaves and debris blown on it.  The cabin itself was very spacious and was really enjoyable for our stay. It had plenty of pots for cooking and a coffee pot. You will need more towels and wash cloths than what is left for you to use, even with using the washer and dryer daily. All dishes must be washed upon checking out and a kitchen wash rag (dish towel provided) would’ve been great to have also. The floors needed mopping upon arrival and there was no vacuum for daily cleaning. A broom is provided but does not do the job. I totally understand it’s vacation but you do not want to have nasty floors for the entire stay. Could’ve used a little dusting and cob web cleaning inside and out. The water pressure in the jacuzzi tub is terrible but the showers are very refreshing after a long day.  Jackson Mountain Homes was awesome in the reservation process and also with checking in. They provide an app for all info cabin related, so it’s easy to access all cabin information. I would definitely book through them again and would be thrilled to stay in Rivers Edge anytime ?
Very clean and beautifullly decorated. Close to all attractions, yet away from it all and peaceful. Will definitely miss the hot tub on deck and the gorgeous rapids running in our backyard. House had every amenity we could need. All kids and grandparents had an amazing week and would rent this house again in a heartbeat.
Streamside retreat
We enjoyed our stay at River's Edge! Pros: quiet location; beside a wonderful stream for fishing; short drive to Arts and Crafts community, Climb Works, and rafting on the Pigeon River. Cons: Uncomfortable mattresses and tile floors needed a good mopping.
